This post brought to you by Comfort Zone® products. All opinions are 100% mine.

As many of you know — I’m a pet owner and I love my furry, four-legged kiddos like crazy!  I never thought I would be much of a dog person, but when my sister got her dog 5 years ago — the tides turned {smile}.

Sometimes we forget that our pets can get stressed out! They can get super stressed when their environment changes, which often happens during the holiday season when we tend to have a lot of family gatherings or unfamiliar guests in and out of our homes for holiday get-togethers.   Something as small as a change in their meal times or general schedule can stress them out as well.  Do you do any holiday travel, having to take our pets on long car rides, crate them during flying or possibly even having to be left home for longer periods of time when the family is traveling?  These types of changes cause stress for our pets and can trigger them to misbehave.  I was recently introduced to Comfort Zone® products that can help reduce stress-related behavior in cats and dogs by mimicking their natural pheromones that help them fell calm and comfortable in their environment.

I asked my sister if  I we could try this product on her dog, Sydney.  I like to call her Sydney Lou.  She’s as sweet as can be, but has some stress related behavior from thunderstorms and being alone.  Meet Sydney.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that during storms she seemed a little less stressed.  She tends to pant heavy and shake, but this behavior seemed to minimize.  Kristine also said that she seemed a calmer upon her return from work each day — she’s always excited to see her Mommy, but was less needy.

Comfort Zone® products are 95% effective at reducing scratching and urine marking for cats (Comfort Zone® with Feliway) and also helps reduceexcessive chewing and barking for dogs(Comfort Zone® with D.A.P®).   While those are never issues with Sydney — the products also help manage stress-related behavior in dogs caused by thunderstorms, loud noises like fireworks, adjusting to a new environment, transitions, being left alone or traveling. Ding-Ding-Ding-Ding-Ding!  The latter behaviors were our concerns and we were pleased to see some improvements over the time that we used this product.

I wished I knew about this product when we got our dogs! It  can also help to manage nighttime whining during puppy transition from the shelter/breeder to their new home.   That my friends is fabulous news!  A lot of sleep was lost when my sister first got Sydney — and when Steve and I got our boys (Parker and Buster).  It was HARD!!

Please note that it is recommended to allow 90 days to see the full effect in your cat or dog.  Follow the instructions in the product insert for detailed usages.  Also note that if your dog is experiencing a medical issue, consult with your veterinarian before using Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.®.

If you have a lot going on this holiday season and your cats or dogs tend to have some stress related behaviors, this might be just the answer!  Learn more about the product by visiting www.petcomfortzone.com or Facebook.  Product availability:  Pet special stores including PetSmart and Petco, independent pet stores and online.

I used to use this with Blitzkrieg. In the beginning his separation anxiety when into overdrive when we left the house. Fortunately, with training and realizing we were always going to come back we only had to break out the DAP for big stuff like Fourth of July fireworks.
