Wait till you see how sweet and simple today’s project is!
These Peppermint Mason Jar Candle Holders are sure to be a hit this year!
Whether you use as a centerpiece or holiday hostess gift, you can’t go wrong.
Here we are on Day 7 of the 10 Days of Merry series with less than three weeks until Christmas! There’s still plenty of time for some holiday crafting and this is one you must try!
I was talking to my sister this week, trying to remember where we got this idea from. Surprise, surprise neither of us could remember (we’re getting old). Hee-Hee! Regardless, we’ve been making these for years! They’re ‘sweet’, colorful and so incredibly easy! You can’t beat that for a holiday accent piece, can you? Let’s see how easy it truly is.
The supplies for mason jar candle holder:
Pint Size Mason Jars
Starlite Peppermint Candies
Glass Votive Holders (should be able to find at dollar store)
Tea Light Candles
Ribbon (optional)
Now that you’ve rounded up the goods, are you ready for this perfectly simple two step project? Don’t blink, I wouldn’t want you to miss anything! {hee-hee}
Step One: Insert Votive Holder into Mason Jar
Simple place the glass votive holder insider your mason jar.
Step 2: Insert Peppermint Candies
Begin inserting the peppermint candies inside the jar — between the jar and the votive holder.
And continue to insert candy, it’s almost like playing a game of Connect Four (remember that game). It was always one of my favorites.
Once you reach the top of the votive holder, you’re done! Insert tealight and your candle holder is ready for use. I’ve used both wax tea-lights and battery operated. If burned for extended periods of time, the candy will start to melt, welding the pieces together. However, there is no fire hazard.
And here it is lit…
I’ve enjoyed using them over and over again. At the end of the season, dispose of the candy and you can create another mason jar masterpiece! {wink} How sweet it is, right? Happy Holiday Crafting.

Great post Kelly, so cute, easy and inexpensive. That’s if you can keep yourself from eating peppermints before you put them in the jars, lol.
Love how this is so versatile also. I’ll have to be getting me some peppermints. Have everything else. Happy weekend

Love this idea! I am definitely making it this year and involving my young kiddos, who jump at the chance of working with candy (who by the way love connect four)!
Thanks for posting!
