Happy Friday!  Who is ready to do a little paper crafting?  Simple, sweet and all kinds of adorable!  Since we’ve been experiencing some cooler temps (do you happen to know where spring is?), I think I’ll grab a cup of coffee and add a dash or two of Carmel Macchiato International Delight Creamer.  Have you tasted that glorious goodness?  It’s so good and it puts me just in the mood to do some ‘sweet’ crafting too!

Let’s whip up these Easter Treat Holders — a perfect last minute addition to your Easter baskets or a last minute favor!

Simple Easter Treat Holders or Favors with live laugh rowe Supplies for Easter Treat Holders

Scrapbook Paper
Scissors
Paper Cutter, optional
Double Sided Tape or  Adhesive Tape Runner
Paper Crimper, optional

It’s never too late to pull together a last minute holiday craft, right?  Worst case scenario — we pin it for inspiration next year.  Right?  Okie dokie, let’s get started, shall we?

cutting paper for easter paper treats

First, let’s cut the scrapbook paper into 6″ x 4-3/4″ rectangles — and we’re ready to roll.

easy steps to make easter treat holdersStep One:
Using double sided tape or adhesive tape runner, place a strip on one of the shorter sides.  It’s hard to see in the photo, but to the left of the paper you can see it faintly.

Step Two:
Roll the piece of paper over and adhere to the other short edge, creating a tube (looks like fancy toilet paper roll).

Step Three:
On one end, place a piece of double sided tape.  Pinch the two sides together.

Step Four:
Add your sweets!  You’re now going to repeat step three on the other side.  You’ll pinch the two sides together in the opposite direction of the first side we sealed.  (Turn the holder 90 degrees and seal with double sided tape).

We’re officially ready for our final step, which is optional.  Take each sealed end and run it through the crimper two or three clicks/turns.

use a paper crimper for a finished lookIt gives the treat holder a lovely finished look, don’t you think?

crimp both edges of treat holderDon’t have a paper crimper?  You could also use pinking scissors!

use pinking shears for edgesThat looks fabulous too!   Now, add some ribbon if you’d like and print off these darling Happy Easter tags! (p.s.  These holders are a little smaller, I cut them to measure 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
