Drop Cloth is all kinds of fabulous! It’s versatile, functional, and fun to work with. I’ve used it on my painted soap wraps, stuffed bunnies, and Easter bunny favors. Today, I’m sharing a DIY Drop Cloth Table Runner as a part of an amazing Ready, Set, Paint Blog Hop brought to you by ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape and The Home Depot . You’ll be able to check out some of the other participants projects at the bottom of the post too!
Let’s get this DIY party started, shall we? First things first, we’ll need to grab a few supplies.
- Drop Cloth
- ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape
- Acrylic Paint of Choice (I used Martha Stewart Gray Wolf and Chipotle)
- Paint Brushes
- Measuring Tape and Scissors, not pictured.
The very first thing I did was wash my drop cloth. I then cut it the length and width I had in mind. I cut mine to approximately 65-1/2″ x 14-1/4″. Keep in mind that if you’re going to fray the sides, you’ll want to cut a little wider and longer. Now we’re ready to the get to the stenciling part of the project.
I started by taping the prep work for the wider stripe. This stripe is 1/2″ thick. Paint and remove tape.
You’ll then move onto the smaller stripe, which is approximately 1/8″ wide.
You’ll then move on to measuring and marking your smaller stripe. We used a pencil to mark where we needed to place the tape. For the smaller stripe, you will need to place the one piece of tape over your first stripe. No worries if the paint isn’t completely dry either. As we did earlier, you’ll tape, paint and remove the tape. Do this on both sides of your runner and voila!
Hopefully you’re feeling inspired!
