In previous posts, I’ve mentioned my Shabby Chic {work} room in passing…  waiting for the right time to start posting.  However, when is the ‘right’ time?  I mean seriously, is there ever one?  Anywho, I think I’ll start to post a few teasers, a few of my Shabby Chic projects.  This room has been soooo much fun to save up for, create a Pinterest board for and, well, spend money on {and my husband would say a loud amen to the face that I love to spend money}.   I sold a lot of household items on Craigslist to get this project past the starting line.  I have one more piece I’d like to buy before revealing thee room, which I’m sure will continue to be a work in progress.  Today, I’m posting the chair I “made over.”  I bought the one on the left at a yard sale for $5.00 and refurbished to match my room. I had never done anything quite like this before, but found that it wasn’t all that difficult to do. Phew {smile}.  After a lot of sanding, priming, spray painting, fabric and padding purchase, and a little stapling — this beauty appeared.  I was very pleased and I have to give some kudos to my hubby for helping me out.

My favorite part of this chair is the intricate detail in the top — a simple flowery etching, which might be hard to see, but it was that little touch that caught my eye and allowed me to visualize this masterpiece. Enjoy!
