Last week I shared the newest piece in my breakfast room, a lovely credenza from Sauder. I promised to swing back this week and show you the full vignette — Confession: I almost forgot! {gulp} It’s been one of those weeks… or maybe I’m just getting old and my memory is slipping. Yikes, I sure hope that isn’t the case! Anywho, here we are and may I present my breakfast room buffet and mantel…
I finally got a form of a mantel that I can decorate seasonly and I’m a bit giddy about it! Yes, I have mantel over our fireplace; however, that is where a very large TV resides because I let the hubby win {giggle}. I anticipate having a lot of fun with this new shelf — that cost me less than $20. It’s amazing what you can do with a couple of Ekby Valter Brackets, a piece of wood and some chalk paint you have on-hand! The white color choice seemed to compliment the buffet perfectly too, don’t you agree?
I wanted to display the old and the new on the shelf (mantel) — which included some recent vintage finds (like the copper tea kettle and that super sweet floral tin). The newer pieces include the artwork and pallet wood frame from Hobby Lobby and the lantern. How about that super old crock pot cookbook too? I still use it!
These pieces make me smile and I feel like I’m finally finding my voice/style in our home decor… is that normal? Discovering your style after 40? I don’t know. Oh well! I know my husband thinks it’s yet another ‘phase’, but I disagree (at-least for now… shhhh, don’t tell him I said that). HA!
Regardless, I’m in love and I hope that you’re feeling a bit inspired!
Care to stay in the loop? I’d love to have you!

It turned out sooo cute! I love that picture and its frame. I even have that tea pot..is yours old? I have a big one and a small one that match, i didnt shine them up though. I am kinda obsessed with the old dingy patina look they have going on for the time being lol. Did you put together the fruit basket? Genius!
Have a wonderful weekend 🙂

Thanks so much Jessica! The tea pot is old…you can see it’s character better in person. 🙂 I didn’t make the fruit basket, just use it to hold fruit. It’s great to have a place to showcase pieces I have had and can be great conversation starters, right? Enjoy the rest of your weekend. HUGS.

Such a cute space! We have a mantle over our fireplace but it’s high up and is only a 2ft clearance from the ceiling. I have in mind putting a faux fireplace/mantel in our master just to have a one to decorate!

Thanks Jessica! I appreciate it. 🙂 A faux fireplace/mantel may be just what you need in the master bedroom for decorating. I say…go for it! Have a great day! xo.

Amazing! This blog looks exactly like my old one! It’s on a totally different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Great choice of colors!
