I tend to enjoy setting house project goals before I have company — particularly when my parents are coming to visit, so they can see some of the transformations around the house from one visit to the next.  If you don’t already know, we bought a new construction home in July of 2007 — so it’s a work in progress.  Everything costs money and, unfortunately, money doesn’t grow on trees (if you can believe that one. wink).  Anywho, before their holiday visit this past year I wanted to complete the ‘new’ guest room (Kristine’s former room) and get pictures hung along our stairwell.  Mission accomplished {smile}.  I was inspired by a pic in a Pottery Barn catalog some time ago and put it on my ‘To Do List.’  I started purchasing frames forever ago, probably in 2009 (seriously).  After I had a fairly decent number of frames and with the holidays quickly approaching, it was time to take action.  I sketched out on an 11×17 sheet of paper what I would like to see and then had to start collecting the digital pictures from a number of different people and places to get them all printed.  We made a paper template of every frame to be sure that they were being hung ‘just right.’  I have to admit that this project was worth every ounce of frustration, cost, etc.  It looks fantabulous and is a gallery of FAMILY from both the Rowe and the Kuert side.  I also have to thank my ever-so-patient husband for all of his help in hanging them, moving them and hanging some of them again.  I tend to be particular and change my mind on occasion {hee hee}, but the end result was one that we can both be proud of.
