Adoption: Updates, Thoughts and Fundraising

Hello Friends and Family!  Just wanted to post a blog and share some thoughts and things from my heart 🙂  I was just recollecting on 2010 and thinking what an overall rough year it’s been for us.  From finding our chances of getting pregnant were slim to doing an unsuccessful IVF to starting (and being rejected) with our adoption application.  I told Steve this morning that I’m hoping for bigger and better things in the New Year, which we hope and pray will include a new addition to the Rowe family.  I am reminded every single day of how human I am.  I’m easily discouraged and often find myself having little pity parties.  Proverbs 3:5-6 is a wonderful reminder to TRUST.  Trust, Kelly — you must trust the Lord with all your heart.  As many of you would agree, it is so much easier said than done (especially if you’re a control freak like myself).

As many of you know, I’m doing a couple of fundraisers to put towards the adoption.  One being U R My Sunshine and now I’m selling Tastefully Simple.  I think we’ve raised a few hundred on U R My Sunshine and I’ve already raised a couple hundred from Tastefully Simple.  We are grateful for these funds! Praise the Lord.  It’s a slow journey, but we remain positive and pray for a financial blessing (or a natural, healthy pregnancy) every single day!!!

I am firm believer in networking and sharing our journey with people — I believe that this opens doors for a possible private adoption, financial contributions and ,of course, an army of prayer warriors!!  We’ve added a ChipIn link to our blog ( look to your right ——>) and set a goal to try and raise $5,000 through friends and family.  The adoption will be around $20,000+ and we will need to finance most of that; however, if 100 people gave $10, we’d quickly raise $1,000.  Every dollar makes a difference — regardless of the number.  For those who can’t give, we ask for your continued prayers.  2011 is our year.  Amen.

Thanks again to each of you who are following our journey — the good, the bad and the ugly 🙂  We love and appreciate you!  Thanks for lending me your ear and updates will follow.

p.s.  If any of you would like to help promote our ChipIn, please click here where you can get a widget to place on your blog, etc.  Or use the following link on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc to direct people to our ChipIn page:  https://theroweadoption.chipin.com/the-rowe-adoption.

keep living and laughing, friends.
