Well, friends… on Wednesday, January 12th, we re-submitted our adoption application to Bethany.  On Wednesday, January 19th, I received a call stating that our formal application had been APPROVED.  Praise the Lord!!!  Take a moment to do a happy dance with us {giggle}.

We’re both so very excited to start this journey of adoption — although it is going to be a stretch of our faith (financially speaking), we will be trusting the Lord all along the way.  On Saturday, we received the invoice for our application fee of $550 with our Domestic Adoption Services Contract and Fee schedule.  Our total expenses with Bethany will be approximately $21,450.00, plus legal fees{deep breath}.  That is a BIG number, right?  That’s okay, we just happen to serve a BIG God!!  We have already raised almost $700, so we’re all set to go on paying the application fee.  Now we move on to the Home Study Fee of $1,050 (with a few additional, yet minimal, fees here and there).  We hope to get this money saved/raised over the next couple of months. I have a couple of fundraisers in play, with a couple more in mind.  Suggestions are always welcome and if you are in any position to hold a bake sale, etc. — PLEASE let me know.

Most importantly, we covet your prayers.  We are asking all of our friends and family to prayerfully consider how you might support our journey as there a number of options — prayer, suggestions for fundraising, re-posting a blog or our ChipIn widget, monetary donations, etc.

I believe you’ll be seeing quite a few more posts as we are now ‘officially’ in the adoption process.  Thank you to those who have already covered us with prayers and for the donations we have received.  Not everything is reflected in our ChipIn total (look to your right—->), but we do have a long road ahead of us.  We will continue to share our adventures with you, we’re so glad to have you be a part of it.  {BIG HUG}

keep living and laughing, friends.
