I am so incredibly excited to share some exciting news! This year, I’m teaming up with the Home Depot to co-host four Do-It-Herself (DIH) Workshops — and the first one is coming up this month! Ya know what? I just love these in-store workshops. They’re a great way to get step-by-step instructions and hands on experience learning to do simple décor and easy home improvements and they empower women (just like you and me) to tackle home improvement projects!
As one of the largest sellers of lawn and garden products, the Home Depot is the ultimate destination for all the tools and supplies needed to create a beautiful outdoor patio this spring. So, about adding a little extra charm to your outdoor space with some flowers? The DIH Workshop paver planter (pictured above) would be the perfect addition to your patio to make your backyard oasis a reality.
Are you ready to learn how to create this simple project using a variety of easy-to-operate power tools? Then clear your calendar and grab your girlfriends the third Thursday of each month for The Home Depot’s DIH Workshop. This interactive, demonstration-style Workshop is a great opportunity to pick up tips and advice from the pros for all of your home improvement projects.
The April DIH Workshop will take place at your local The Home Depot store on Thursday, April 16 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and as I mentioned earlier, we’ll be demonstrating how to build the paver planter. Be sure to register online TODAY! I’m super excited to be co-hosting the April workshop at the Daphne, Alabama store located at:
Home Depot (Store #863)
7100 Hwy 90
Daphne, AL 36526
Not in Daphne? No worries, DIH Workshops are held monthly at all The Home Depot store locations. Want to learn more? Register online today to attend this month’s workshop at a Home Depot near YOU! I hope you can join us.
Care to stay in the loop? I’d love to have you!

Well, Kelly, let me tell you something. I’m the team captain for the Rohnert Park Home Depot DIH workshop (and all workshops for that matter). I started to build the paver planter last weekend and followed the cut instructions exactly…guess what happened when I got to the part about paver insertion? In the real world, 12×12 pavers are not 12×12..some are 11-5/8″, some are 11-3/8″, some are 11-1/2″ on one side, but a different measurement on the other. You will have to throw out the 12″ measure on the 2×2 and measure the paver and cut the 2×2 to fit….good luck!!!! I’m going to add .75 x .75 nailers and use them as stops. Oh, and btw..those pavers can weigh 22 lbs each, so watch your back when lifting them. Let me know how your project goes.
