I have a love down deep inside for vintage things… I also enjoy vintage inspired crafts and projects.  So, I decided to share these fabulous vintage inspired covered matchboxes.  I {love-love-love} them. I’m also providing a printable to make the box a perfectly sweet valentines gift for a friend, spouse, child or co-worker.

How sweet are these vintage inspired covered matchboxes? I love that you can place small gifts or little notes in them too! livelaughrowe.comHow sweet are these Covered Matchboxes?

This is another project where a step by step tutorial really isn’t necessary.  With just a few supplies, you can upcycle a little matchbox into something so super versatile!  So, let’s grab the following supplies…

Supplies for vintage inspired covered matchboxes. livelaughrowe.com

Supplies for Covered Matchboxes:
Matchboxes
Scrapbook Paper
Gluestick
Scissors
Glue Gun (for embellishments)
Embellishments

All of the fun embellishments can probably be found amongst your crafting stash — fabric, buttons, stickers, twine, washi tape, ribbon, etc.   You’ll simply cut a piece of the paper to be about 4-1/2″ long by 2″ wide.  Place glue on the paper and wrap around the box.  Trim the edges, if necessary. To add a little vintage wear and tear to my covered matchboxes, I used a little sanding block on all of the corners and finished up with embellishments that would add just the perfect touch of extra flair.

Now you can use this little box to gift a small sweet treat, jewelry, use them as a favor or share 10 Things I Love About You (download the printable below) with those you love.

How stinking cute are these – I’m smitten with the roughed up edges and that tiny little scrappy flower – how did you do THAT???
