The dreaded cough and cold season is upon us. All the sniffling, sneezing, and sore throats can be a real bummer. Today, I’m sharing 5 Ways to Prepare for Cough and Cold Season. Have no fear — just keep these tips near {giggle}
Stock up on Supplies: Be sure to have disinfectants, hand sanitizer, paper towels, and tissues with aloe stocked up. You’ll be glad you did when the sniffles hit!
Stock up your Pantry and Fridge: When cough and cold season hit, it’s always nice to have Chicken Soup, clear soft drinks and juices on hand. If you prefer homemade soup, this Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup is a favorite around my house.
Medicine Cabinet: Is your medicine cabinet ready to tackle cold and cough season? Be sure to stock up on Chloraseptic® products, pain relievers and fever reducers. Check your thermometers to be sure it’s still working too. Don’t’ forget a couple of new toothbrushes for when the family starts feeling better too!
I can say from experience that I love Chloraseptic® lozenges and sprays because they work on contact, and it provides crucial on-the-go relief when traveling, working or visiting family during the holidays. Why wait for other OTC pain products to take effect? Chloraseptic® to the rescue….

- Chloraseptic® Sore Throat Lozenges, with a soothing liquid center, provides fast-acting relief for sore throat and mouth pain and their Total product cools the nasal passages as well.
- Chloraseptic® Sore Throat sprays come in a variety of flavors including Cherry, Warming Honey Lemon, Grape made just for kids and Max Wild Berry with a target sprayer.
- Chloraseptic® products work on contact delivering sore throat pain relief where you and your family need it most.
Disinfect. Keep that a bottle of Lysol on-hand and disinfect heavily touched items such as doorknobs, phones, and remote controls. I usually spray furniture, beds and more. Can you disinfect too much with germs lingering? I don’t think so.
Sanitize. Place hand sanitizers in each room. Be sure it’s at least 60% alcohol to ensure it’s killing the germs. Use a squirt often, maybe even every time you pass by.
Another great idea to minimize germs is to switch to paper products. You’ll be less likely to swap germs if you use paper towels instead of hand towels and paper cups instead of glass ones.

Kelly, great tips and ideas. This house always has Lysol in it. In fact that and the Lysol wipes for all the door handles.
Staying healthy this winter season is a plus when we have kids. It sure makes it much easier for us.
Happy New Year to you

I’m a total germaphobe, so I’m always wiping things in our home down with Lysol Wipes!

Great tips, Kelly! We’ve been hit so hard this year with my four kids. Common colds lead to pneumonia almost instantly in our house, due to their asthma. Lots of disinfecting going on over here! Hope you are staying healthy! xo

I’m totally on the same page as you. My hands are like crocodile skin from washing so often and I’m going through paper towels like there is no tomorrow! Hopefully with preventative measures, I’ll keep the germs at bay this year. I do swear by Chloraseptic when I have a sore throat as well. I like the old fashioned green one – I like the taste and it numbs my throat on contact for instant relief.
