Happy hellos from Rogersville, MO. A lot has happened since I last posted the Weekender. All I can say is that I’m not living my best life right now. I’m such a hot mess.
Nevertheless, I’m super excited to be here and ready to catch up. Let’s do this.
This picture was taken in Hohenwald, Tennessee, in October 2018
Miscellany:
1. Last weekend, I saw Jon Crist for the third time. Friends, I agree with Audrey Hepburn, “Laughter is and always will be the best form of therapy.” By the end of the night, my cheeks hurt. It was a Friday night show and a great way to end the week.
2. Nash turned TWO! We celebrated our sweet boy with a little family gathering. I served coffee and cake. Everybody brought Nash a gift, and he got a special treat from a local pet store.
How cute is that fire hydrant candle? Stop it! 😆
3. A week or two ago, we made our first visit to Fleet Feet. I needed to get a good pair of sneakers and inserts. Little did I know I would get a great pair of sneakers and receive exceptional customer service while meeting a beautiful soul. Erin is a retired coach and physical education teacher.
I always think God knows what we need. I needed someone upbeat and helpful. A few days before we met, Erin unexpectedly had to put one of her dogs down. I told her I could completely relate, and she didn’t need to hold back the tears for me.
As we checked out, I asked if I could hug her. It was such a fantastic chance meeting.
4. The ‘Ber Months are officially here! I’m late in saying that, but I sure do love the ‘Ber months.
5. In case you missed it, I posted these adorable pinecone wreaths I used as place holders. Be sure to take a looksy—they’re an easy and versatile project.
6. I had my six-month check-in with my dermatologist this past Monday.
Drum roll, please.
This was the first appointment in a year and a half that NO BIOPSIES were taken. Thank you, Jesus! Honestly, I pray before every single appointment.
My takeaways from all of my conversations at these appointments:
- No more bed tanning.
- Not all sunscreens are made the same!
- Beauty Influencers DO NOT know the difference between chemical sunscreens and zinc oxide. When someone says a product has SPF, that doesn’t mean it’s protecting your skin from further damage or sunburn. Do your research. Your skin (damage) depends on it!
7. Snapple “Real Fact” #271. Dim lights reduce your appetite.
So, who wants to join me in living in darkness? Just kidding. 😂
8. I have been fighting a lot of tension headaches/migraines lately. I’m trying to figure out whether I’m sleeping funny or if it’s my posture. What the crap? It’s awful to try and debilitating. This week, I had to push through a project (Fall Tablescape) and ended up hating the pictures, so I’ll have to reshoot it this weekend.
Nevertheless, stay tuned. I’m excited to share my tablescape soon.
