As I mentioned in an earlier post, my parents joined us for Christmas here in St. Louie! They flew in on Christmas morning — and thankfully missed ALL the storms. What they didn’t menion was that they were bringing yet another guest, Suzy Snowflake {smile}. After arriving, they went upstairs to unpack the boxes they had shipped and when they were ready to join us for the festivities — my Dad cued up his phone and started playing the old song Suzie Snowflake as my Mom made her appearance. All together now, “Here comes Suzy Snowflake. Dressed in a snow white gown. Tap, tap, tappin’ at your window pane to tell you she’s in town…” Of course we were all busting up and enjoying the moment.

I love the fun that my parents bring to our time together. Having them here was a joy and, of course, the visit was too short. I love the laughter and conversation that fills the rooms while they are here… and so do the kiddos (Parker and Buster). Parker ran down to their room every morning in great anticipation of seeing his Grandma and Grandpa. It was too cute.
I always hate to see their visits come to an end. After Steve and I took them to the airport, I dreaded the return to the empty house on Towergate Drive. I walked upstairs and stood in the guest room and began to cry. Let me tell you, friends — Family is precious. Hold tight to it. Don’t let circumstances and life get in the way of soaking up every opportunity you have to love and appreciate FAMILY! After losing both of my Grandmothers last year, I’m more aware than ever that I don’t want any regrets. I hate the miles that stretch between MO and NJ; however, it allows me to never take for granted the time we have together.
Mom and Dad ~ I love you more than words could ever describe. I’m thankful for your unconditional love and godly example you lead. Dan and Michelle ~ I wish you could have joined us here in St. Louis this year, but there will be plenty more opportunities. A summer visit to MO would be nice! Kristine ~ I’m so glad you live in St. Louis. Having you here is a breath of fresh air in knowing that we can hang out and make memories on a regular basis. Steve ~ My honey. I’m so glad that I have you beside me on this journey called life. Every day with you is a blessing and I look forward to spending a lifetime of moments with you that will hug us and never let go!! {wink}
