Sometimes we have to take some time to step back and enjoy the little things in life. I often feel a great sense of pressure to have a craft, diy or recipe on here every single day. Today I thought I would keep things a little simpler. I hope you don’t mind. I wanted to share this photo I snapped with my iPhone of some beautiful red tulips I picked up recently. Spring is officially here and with it comes some of my favorite things… one of them being tulips.
They are beautiful and since I can’t have them on my table year round, I do enjoy the sunshine they add to my home during the spring. Tulips are aaa-mazing! They are one of the few flowers that continue to grow after being cut. Did you know that? They grow an average of one inch after being cut. They’re phototropic, meaning that they stretch towards sunlight — even when displayed in a vase.
I recently read that if you rotate the vase 180 degrees every day, the tulips won’t lean too far in any one direction as they extend (via Cindy Verge of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Washington).
Gosh, I truly enjoy watching the tulips ‘stretch’ towards the sun and it’s a great reminder as a believer to continue to reach and stretch my arms in praise and thanksgiving to the ‘Son of God.’ His creations are magnificent and I’m thankful for these reminders.
