WOW! What a weekend… and then a very busy start to the week {smile}. What is it with us women? We thrive on busy-busy-busy! I’m finally taking the time to sit down and share some of my weekend fun with you — and it includes some fun trivia and yummy Popcorn Cupcakes.
On Saturday Night, I attended my very first Trivia Night for a very good cause (a local school raising funds for the little kiddos). Anywho, the theme was “A Star Studded Event.” Of course, there was a table decorating contest and the majority of us at our table decided we didn’t want to spend a lot of money, so we kept it fairly simple. However, we had some fun along the way. We went with a movie night theme and purchased some themed printables {here}. A few of us met up for coffee and took on a couple of ‘assignments.’ One of mine was the popcorn cupcakes.
I thought I would share this fun tutorial with all of you! To get this party started, here’s what you’ll need:
–> cake mix (any flavor will do)
–> frosting (preferably white or yellow)
–> white and yellow mini marshmallows
–> cupcake pan, of course
–> knife or scissors
So, you’re going to whip up the cupcakes and frost the . You’ll then get ready to pop some popcorn… well, not really {giggle}. You’re going to make some sweet, marshmallowy flavored popcorn. Grab a knife or some scissors and you’re set to go.
What you’re going to do is put a cut/slit in the marshmallows, and place them ever so strategically on your cupcakes. Slowly, but surely a handful of ‘popcorn’ will appear. The mini yellow marshmallows will give the popcorn a buttery appearance.
Whether you buy one of those darling printables, or create one of your own — all that’s left to do is place the wrapper on the cupcake and voila! Adorable and delicious Popcorn Cupcakes. This cute and ever so simple how-to was included in our purchase… and the cupcakes were a hit! {yay!}
We had a great time playing trivia and just happened to come in 4th place out of 23 teams. Not too shabby, right? Fun was had by all. Wished you could have joined in on the fun!
