These Best Guest Etiquette tips are brought to you by EVITE® and Lindt®.

With the holidays comes lots of holiday parties.  Sometimes you’re the host and others your the guest. My rule of thumb — “Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you.”  You just can’t go wrong!  Here are my top five etiquette tips so that you can appear on the ‘best guest’ list {wink}.

Tips for Best Guest Etiquette for holiday parties and events! livelaughrowe.comRSVP.  Always RSVP and do so promptly.  Do any of you have those friends that say, “they’ll let you know?”  and you know that they’re waiting out any other invitations.  If your calendar is free and you want to attend, say yes!  If you have something else going on you’re just not interested in attending, say no. It’s that easy!

Inquire about Dress Code.  Business casual?  Formal?  Casual?  It’s never fun to arrive to a party under dressed, so always ask the hostess what he/she had in mind (unless it’s stated on the invitation).

Be Fashionably Late (around 15 minutes).  Oh, this one makes me happy!  I love to be fashionably late. My husband, on the other hand, hates it.  However, it is actually okay  to show up 10-15 minutes after the specified time.

Bring a Gift.  You can’t go wrong with a bottle of wine or box of chocolates.  My recommendation on the chocolate is a box of LINDT Gourmet Truffles.

Say Thank You.  Always be sure to say thank you for hosting the party.  I like to follow-up with an e-mail or note as well.  I know that I love when I get a big ole’ hug goodbye at the end of the party and hear those two simple works, “Thank you!”  It’s always a pleasant surprise to get a little extra love a couple days later in your Inbox or mailbox too!

Be sure to swing by EVITE for more holiday party dos and don’ts.  Let’s aim to be on the ‘best guest’ list this year, shall we?
