You know you’ve officially embraced “Christmas person” status when you’re decorating a tree in the middle of summer… and enjoying it. Yep, there’s a first time for everything. And this year, I created a Christmas in July Patriotic Tree, a simple yet showstopping display.

Fully decorated tree with a red tree skirt and bold July 4th theme, featuring the King of Christmas 8-foot Noble Fir unflocked tree

King of Christmas gifted me this product, and, as always, I’m sharing my honest take!

Meet our Patriotic Tree! Isn’t she a beauty? A red, white, and blue celebration that checks all the festive boxes: a nod to the Fourth of July, a wink at my Canadian (now American) husband’s birthday, and a chance to enjoy the sparkle and magic of the holidays without waiting for winter.

At the center of it all? The 8-foot Noble Fir from King of Christmas, standing tall, unflocked, and beautifully pre-lit. Remember my 8-foot Noble Fir Flocked Tree from last Christmas? Another beauty.

Why Decorate a Patriotic Tree in July?

Let’s be honest, summer can start to feel a little long. Once the fireflies lose their novelty and the sunscreen starts to stain everything you own, it’s easy to crave something cozy and different. That’s where Christmas in July comes in.

It’s the perfect excuse to break out a little sparkle, shake up the seasonal routine, and lean into joy — no matter the date on the calendar. A tree in July adds instant cheer, and I loved using it as a creative outlet with a totally new color palette or theme.

The theme? Simple, bright, and patriotic. Red, white, and blue provide both patriotic and birthday vibes for us. We get fireworks and fairy lights! Winning.

How I Decorated Our Patriotic Tree

As I mentioned earlier, ironically, my husband is Canadian — born on July 4th, of all days! So while he’s waving the maple leaf, we’re also breaking out the red, white, and blue for birthday cake and fireworks. Haha.

So, naturally, I ran with that idea and created a patriotic tree that feels celebratory, festive, and full of personality. Perfect plan, right?

Here’s what I used to decorate:

  • Red velvet ribbon tied in loose bows for classic color
  • Shiny red and blue ornaments, mixed with silver disco balls
  • Oversized white paper snowflakes to mimic both fireworks and snow
  • A bold red tree skirt grounds the entire look

Mixing finishes (matte, glossy, glittered) gives the tree depth and a bit of playful movement. It’s festive without feeling fussy—and honestly, it just makes you smile.

What I Love about My King of Christmas Tree

Let’s talk about this Noble Fir. It’s hands-down one of the best faux trees I’ve ever owned. At eight feet tall, it makes a stunning statement in our living room without overwhelming the space.

The branches are lush, the spacing is perfect, and the color is that ideal deep forest green. Plus, with the power pole, you won’t need to plug in each section — connect the easy-connect sections and plug the cord into the wall.

Even better? It’s pre-lit. No tangled light strands. No uneven gaps. Just plug it in and bask in the glow. Even in the middle of summer, the warm twinkle lights add the coziest ambiance. We’ve been turning it on in the evenings just for fun!

This tree isn’t just for Christmas. Its quality and shape make it perfect for fall-themed decor, Valentine’s Day trees, spring florals, and of course, Christmas in July.

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your tree or if you’ve had your eye on something timeless and stunning, you really can’t go wrong with King of Christmas.

What I love about this company (besides the tree itself) is that they offer:

  • Incredible quality and realism
  • Various heights and styles (flocked, unflocked, pencil trees, wide trees, and more)
  • Easy setup with clear instructions
  • Fast shipping — perfect if you’re prepping now or if you’re a last-minute shopper

They also carry wreaths, garlands, and ornaments, so you can achieve a coordinated look without having to hop from store to store.

This Noble Fir is a keeper—and it’s not just a one-season star. It’s already earned its place in our hearts (and living room!) this summer as we celebrate a birthday with patriotic flair.

Planning Ahead: Too Early for Christmas Tree Shopping?

Yeah, it might feel early to think about Christmas prep when it’s still watermelon season — but hear me out: starting now gives you space to enjoy the holidays later.

Summer is the best time to start planning your color scheme and/or theme. Grab decor, ribbon, wrapping, and craft supplies before shelves get picked over. No crowds, no stress. Yes and Amen!

Whether it’s ordering your dream tree (Hi, King of Christmas! 👋🏻), jotting down gift ideas, or gathering early supplies, even the smallest step now will pay off big-time later.

Star Spangled Gift Wrap

Under the tree, I added a few gift bags in coordinating colors—some with kraft paper and plaid, others in solid navy, or a kraft-wrapped box with a red ribbon. They’re mostly empty (or hiding snacks, let’s be real), but they instantly make the space feel more finished.

Kraft gift bags are my favorite. You can easily add festive or holiday elements to the bag with ribbons, bows, scrapbook paper, and other decorative items.

Fun wrapping paper and bags aren’t just practical—they add texture, color, and instant holiday vibes to your tree setup. I love it when the base of the tree feels just as stylish as the top.

Celebrating Patriotism and a July Birthday

This tree brought together a whole lot of things we love—celebrating our country, decorating with purpose, and marking my husband’s birthday with festive flair, all in one beautiful setup.

So, a very happy dual-celebration to my husband, whose Canadian charm somehow landed him a Fourth of July birthday. Cheers to maple syrup, fireworks, and the festive middle ground where it all comes together, right under the twinkle lights of our Christmas in July tree.

Documenting our patriotic spirit and his July 4th birthday has never been more joyful — or more photogenic! It’s fun, festive, and makes summer feel extra special this year.

And who says Christmas is only for winter? Huh?

This summer, set up your tree early. Whether you’re throwing a birthday bash, hosting a cookout, or just craving a bit of twinkle in your life, a patriotic tree (or any Christmas in July-themed tree) brings all the magic, with none of the wait.

So here’s to merry and bright… even when it’s 95 degrees outside. Long live the fairy lights, festive ribbon, and Christmas spirit in July.

Happy Christmas in July, friends!️.
