Spring and Summer are wonderful seasons for planting flowers and/or gardens. I {love} having potted flowers on my front porch and back deck. The different colors, shapes and sizes whisk me away to a happy place {smile}.
I’ve always been a big fan of Miracle Gro. Actually, the planted mums in my front flower bed have become well known in the neighborhood. I’ve always used Miracle Gro and boy oh boy did they GROW. So I was super excited to see the new Expand ‘n Gro(TM) planting mix.
This product expands up to 3 times when you add water! How fabulous is that? And it can be used in the ground or in containers making it super versatile. Some additional benefits include that it feed for up to six months and will significantly improve your soil for multiple years. Take quick peek at this video.
When mixed with your native soil, Expand ‘n Gro™ helps loosen and aerate soil. It creates up to 90% more air space than the native soil alone, allowing moisture and nutrients to reach your plants roots. Even if you have heavy, compacted or clay soil, (which is what we have here in Missouri), Expand ‘n Gro™ makes it easier to work with and up to 40% lighter.
The all natural coconut coir is at the heart of this product. It is a lightweight all- natural material derived from coconut husk. Coir’s unique moisture holding abilities help Expand ‘n Gro™ retain up to 50% more moisture than your basic potting and/or garden soils. It also releases water as the plant needs it to help prevent over or under watering, which can sometimes be tricky, so it’s nice to have some peace of mind that that this product can help prevent that.
Do you plant flowers or a garden at this time of the year? What do you use to create beauty in your pots or flower beds? I encourage you to check out Miracle Gro Expand ‘n Gro™ Concentrated planting mix. It’s an easy way to prep for Spring and Summer planting! Be a peach and let me know what you think!

I love gardening and come to think of it, my containers probably need some new dirt in them this season. Only the most forgiving of plants survive around here 🙂 I'm learning though! I'm looking forward to launching a new gardening series next week on my blog so feel free to stop by and share any more tips you have!
Enjoy your weekend Kelly!
