Don’t you love when you see something in a store or magazine and think to yourself — “I could do that.” I can’t recall (for the life of me), where I saw bottles similar to these featured, but I wanted to had to give it a try. Sometimes, items like these can be found at astronomical prices and for those of us that enjoy crafting and DIY projects…. well, we can save ourselves some moolah.
Okay, moving on. I have a four tiered shelf in our breakfast room and I like to stir things up more times than none and thought these might be a good option. We enjoy a bottle of wine on occasion, so I kept a few of the different bottles (colors and shapes). I soaked them in water to get 95% of the labeling off and used the handy dandy Goo Gone to rid of the any remaining glue. I picked one decorative bottle up at Hobby Lobby to compliment the trio of others. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to wrap the entire bottle(s), so I just added snippets of twine here and there — and kept one naked. Voila! They do add a little eclectic, artsy fartsy touch to my shelf — and it cost really next to nothing (especially if you drink wine or have wine drinking friends).
Recycling/Upcycling everyday items can be fun and a great way to save a few dollars. Some additional twine bottle ideas can be found here.

I love bottles too. Mine are all cobalt blue. I might just have to try this on a couple. Thanks for sharing. Found you from Keeping it Simple =)

Bottles are my new favorite thing to decorate. I love twined wrapped ones too. I have a couple that I'll be putting on my Fall mantle. I like how you only wrapped twine on parts of yours.
