Instructions
Melting the Chocolate
Pour the bag of chocolate melting wafers into a microwavable safe bowl and melt according to the directions on the package. This will take only a couple of minutes, with intermittent stirring.
Making the Chocolate Molds
Place the silicone sphere mold on a cookie sheet (optional).
Add a heaping spoonful of the melted chocolate to each of the sphere molds. Using a spoon to spread the chocolate up the sides, ensuring the entire cavity is evenly coated with the chocolate.
Refrigerate the molds for 5-10 minutes.
Remove the chocolate from the mold and place it on a plate or parchment paper.
Assembling Valentine Hot Cocoa Bombs
Place a microwave-safe plate in the microwave and heat for approximately 2 minutes and remove.
Fill three of the chocolate halves with 1 tablespoon of hot chocolate mix and desired amount of marshmallows. This will vary by the size of the marshmallows too.
Take one of the empty chocolate halves and gently place seam-side down on the warm plate, gently twisting to melt the edges of the sp. Remove* and place on top of the halves containing the hot chocolate and marshmallows. This will seal the two halves, making the sphere complete.
Decorate the hot cocoa bombs with melted color chocolates, sprinkles, etc.
Use immediately or store at room temperature.
Making Hot Chocolate with Hot Cocoa Bombs
Place the hot cocoa bomb in a large mug.
Heat up 1 cup of milk (or water) and slowly pour over the chocolate ball. Watch for the surprise inside and stir. Enjoy.
Notes
*Wearing food-safe gloves would prevent your hot cocoa bombs from having unsightly fingerprints all over them.
