Looking for a fun Halloween activity with the kids? These Miniature Reese’s Oreo Bats are a blast to make together—and even more fun to eat! Plus, they’re the cutest bats you’ll ever meet.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
Separate the Oreo cookies and remove the cream filling.
Once separated, carefully use your hands or a thin knife to break the cookies in half to make the bat wings.
Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips to a piping bag (or zip-lock bag). Place the bag in the microwave and heat in 30-second increments on a low or defrost setting. After each interval, gently massage the bag to help the chocolate melt evenly. Continue until the chocolate is fully melted. Once melted, let the chocolate cool before snipping off a small piece of the tip.
Place your unwrapped Reese’s cups onto the parchment-lined baking tray. Pipe a small amount of melted chocolate onto each miniature Reese’s cup. Carefully take two Oreo halves and gently press them onto the Reese’s cup, creating the wings. Hold them in place for a few seconds to ensure they don’t fall off.
Next, pipe a thin line of chocolate across the wings to connect them, and then add two candy eyes on top. Repeat this process with the remaining Reese’s cups and Oreo halves.
Allow to cool completely before serving.
Notes
Making Bigger Bats: If you want to create larger bats, simply swap out the miniature Reese’s cups for regular-sized ones. This will give your bats a more impressive wingspan and make them even more eye-catching!No Piping Bag? No Problem!: Don’t worry if you don’t have a piping bag on hand. A zip-lock bag works just as well—just melt the chocolate, snip a tiny piece off one corner, and you’re good to go. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and use a skewer or toothpick to apply the chocolate where needed. It’s easy and still gets the job done!Storing Your Bats: To keep your bats fresh and ready for snacking, store any leftovers in an airtight container. They’ll stay delicious on the counter for up to 5 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week. Enjoy your sweet treats whenever you like!
