Made this today and had for dinner tonight. I only used 1# beef but everything else was as stated in recipe and I cooked in oven for 3.5 hours.. It has an amazing flavor and all the veggies cooked perfectly! My hubby loved it too! Thanks!

Hey Kelly! Thanks for sharing my recipe! This recipe was actually my mom’s and it has been in our family for as long as I remember! It’s one of my favorites. You can find the tapioca in the pudding aisle. And yes, it is used to thicken the stew. The bread….I never did understand that either but I just dutifully add it assuming it aids in thickening as well! And it turns out delicious every time! These days I cook it at 350 degrees for about 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours. It’s just as tender and saves time. I’m so glad you shared this with your readers! Everyone NEEDS to know about this easy recipe!
