Hi Toni. Dries zest is preferred. If you only have fresh available, be sure to press out any moisture with a paper towel. I put mine in the oven for a few minutes to dry it out a bit faster.

Never use dried lavender or roses or any type of zest in your melt and pour soap it will rot and turn brown (not pretty).
