Hi Kelly. We just had Labor Day, always the first Monday in September. (not Memorial Day).
Memorial Day is always the last Monday in May, to honor our fallen servicemen and women, usually cemetery ceremonies and flag-placings on graves.
Veterans Day is November 11, whatever day of the week it falls on. It honors all the veterans who served in our armed forces. Ceremonies and parades are held to honor these gallant men and women. Combat vets are especially honored.
All 3 of these days are Federal Holidays. People are off work & school, usually making three-day weekends. We need to acknowledge why we're off, not just a vaca. FYI, and from a member of your blog: a combat veteran's wife. :-))
