Hi Lynda. I’m sorry you’re not seeing the results you expected. What consistency are you looking for? Mine was still very similar to an apple sauce consistency (as you can see in the pictures). If you’re wanting yours thicker, then a longer time would be required.

Turned the setting to low and put the cover on. At 10am this morning I checked it and the consistency was the same. Had not thickened. It is now 3:20pm the next afternoon and still the same. I have now turned the setting to high and removed the lid on the advice of a friend who makes apple butter every year, This recipe is not working for me even though the aroma is absolutely wonderful I doubt I will follow this recipe again. And yes whenever I try something for the very first time, I follow the ingredients list and directions religiously.
