The Honey Bees {Review & Giveaway}

Meet author and illustrator, Paula J. Giordano

Paula has loved art since she was in junior high and wanted to be an Art Teacher, but made a choice not to go to college.  She’s been been serving the Lord for 20 years, and is thankful that the Lord has allowed her to use her artistic abilities for Him with The Honey Bees book series.  She paints and designs sets for our plays, teaches art and crafts to the ladies of the church and other ministries in the church. Paula is blessed with 3 beautiful children and 3 precious grandchildren.

Paula is a dear friend to my family and I couldn’t be more excited for her as she pursues her dreams.  I also think it’s important to note that half of all her proceeds are going towards a rolling soup kitchen to minister to the homeless.  Paula serves with gladness and has such a BIG heart.  I wanted to give something back to her by introducing you to her and this book series.  You and your children will be blessed by her writing and illustrations.

Going to a New School

The Honey Bees: Going to a New School is about NiNi and her family moving to a new home. NiNi has to attend a new school, so she is frightened at the prospect of finding her way around and not knowing anyone at the school. She is slightly comforted that her cousins Jakub and Bella will be with her for part of the day, but she still needs reassurance.

While the children are visiting their grandmother, Oomah, NiNi shares her fears. She reminds NiNi that when she asked Jesus into her heart, He never leaves us, so she will not be alone. Oomah encourages NiNi to memorize two Bible verses.

When NiNi goes to school the first day, and meets her teacher and classmates, fear starts to well up inside her. She recites the memory verses, starts to calm down and thanks Jesus for helping her. By the end of the school day, she makes a new friend and is excited about coming back the next day.

Paula sent me a copy of her book to review for this giveaway and I have to say that it is absolutely darling! An uplifting storyline allowing children to learn valuable life lessons, while applying biblical values as well. Your sure to enjoy this first book in The Honey Bees book series.
.
Paula is also giving TWO Live Laugh Rowe readers the chance to win a hardcover copy of her brand new book.  If you don’t have a child, this book would also make a great gift for any holiday!  If you don’t win — pick up a copy {here}.  The Kindle version is available {here}. Paula is donating half of all the profits generated by the Honey Bees to start and support a rolling soup kitchen through Calvary Temple of Wayne.

    What a beautiful way to honor a good family friend! Paula must be a wonderful woman to do so much for her church and friends. Books are a wonderful way to reach out to people and especially children. This book is a great idea. Moving to a new school is a really scary thing! What a great way to remind children to rely on Jesus during times of need. Thanks for sharing Paula and her book with us!

    I would love to win this book my son has problems with chance. I think the more kids have things explained to them the more they understand and accept. I think explaining things in a story is a brilliant way for kids to learn about chance.
